Great story! I always say it comes down to perception and who is doing the looking. History is interpreted by the victors and written as they see or saw it. Wonderful work!

I like it.Good story. As far as rewriting history,I see more than a few facts being ignored these days(one has only to go to Faux or MSNBC to get whichever half you agree with).Look at Reagan. All I hear is how great he was,he wasn't.So......

This was a fantastic story, and I loved every second of it. It was well-written, with a very intereting plot, and a novel method for introducing the zombies. You lose a couple of points, though, for the predictable "oh shit, the military's gone bad" approach most zombie movies involving the military have. I don't know if it's just a built-in fear of the power of a government, or an immediate distrust of anyone with a firearm, but it's annoying reading stories about how military units are always the sources of evil. I like to think that, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, our soldiers would remember their oaths to defend the US at any cost, and would help people, rather than cause trouble. Hell, since officers are generally the most dedicated of the soldiers, they alone would probably help people.

Interesting how history, or more accurately the people who write the history can change things around. Wonderful.

Think of what the history books would read like had Germany won the Second World War. I had problems with the beginning of the story with the militarist ranting and the fact that the U.S. seemed to crumble so easily. (I would think we would go full nuclear on the middle east in such a humiliating situation as the vaguely described 1/16) For a second I thought you were just a Fox News/Limbaugh fan, hating everyone for hate's sake. Then I saw your point. Good cautionary tale but a bit boggy. Also, if a young woman was hit in the head with a shotgun blast there would be no head left to take a bite out of anything.

Well, I agree that there were a lot of cliches involved. Having a lot of family in the military, I have a lot of dealings with them and thier friends. Can't say I have ever met anyone that fits that Gereral's description. Not saying they don't exist, just saying I've never met one.

I think the Anarchists in the story are a bit cliched as well. Doo gooders that no one really understands out to change the world and make it a better place. Most people I know who call themselves anarchists live better than I do.

The politician at the end is a cardboard cut-out. If she's heard the revisionist ideas, and has access to records that normal people wouldn't (due to her being in a seat of authority that the rest of us wouldn't be privy to) why doesn't she ask herself any hard questions? Why is there no doubt? A true historian would be open to new ideas and research other theories. If the first protector was such a bad leader, and his ideas so wrong, why has it existed for 150 years? Especially after mentioning elections?

It was a good story. well written and the logic followed well. I will also admitt that I don't trust the govt. to tell the truth as much as I trust it to play "Wag the Dog." Wonder though if the zombie death methods are correct? Most stories agree that taking off the head of one stops the thing. I liked it, and did finish the piece. Keep at it.
