The mix of genres reminds me of a "Twilight Zone" I saw in the 80's. It took place in a nuclear missile launch facility and the apocalypse had just happened. Outside, in the radiated landscape figures appear even though they supposedly cannot live. Come to find out they are vampires and those that go out to "help" the survivors are taken and turned themselves. In the end the lone human inside is left with the horde, led by a female former human Air Force sergeant trying to get in through the security lock by entering blind codes in the keypad. She tells him that it's only a matter of time until they stumble upon the right combination. It might be a year, two years or three or it might be in an hour. But they would get him.

Your work is very descriptive if a bit flowery for the subject matter. I could easily see the action and it had a real creep feel about it.

Bobby,

It takes a lot of zombies to bring a werewolf down. Unfortunatly, there were plenty of zombies to achieve this end during the story.

Mercurial Georgia,

Yes, I fiddle with the werewolf myth somewhat, allowing them to retain their wits after the shapeshifting event.

I think that, when you're talking about a zombie apocalypse, the floodgates are open. Whatever measures you take to allow a "rational" reason for zombies, it still requires a fairly large leap of belief. Once you're there...why not broaden the scope to include a few choice supernatural elements, as well?

I don't know about the Marvel Dracula, but there's a great graphic novel from the 90's where Batman and Dracula face off (that's DC, of course).

Thanks for coming by!

Yay for the werewolves, they are pretty special against the usual myth though, eh? In that they keep their rationality after transformation.

Reminds me of the questions the Marvel Zombies raised, what about the other supernaturals? Such as vampires and mummies? I think Marvel actually had a Dracula character.

Vincent,

Yes, the werewolves aren't exactly within the "cannon" of zombie apocalypse fiction, but I don't think that the story is primarily concerned with lycanthropy. Rather, it's a pretty human struggle against our standard adversary. In the face of the undead, the line of declivity between human and werewolf become trivial. Then again, maybe I just like werewolves...

While the werewolves were a bit off the zombie topic, it was still a good read. I could practically see the three of them in their final struggle.
