*whew* I'm glad I checked back here today!

Once again, thanks for all the complimentary feedback. I'm now convinced that this story (and you readers) deserve a follow-up. I don't think it needs to be a Kate's POV vs. a true sequel decision, either. I think I can do both. I bet I can submit it by the end of the weekend, so stick around.

Lastly, and this may or may not be of any interest to you, but I've been working on a zombie (naturally) novel for the last few months. If you have any interest in getting a rough copy when it's done and giving me your critique, just let me know!

Dan, I truly enjoyed your story. That being said, I have a minor complaint. The opening paragraph leads you to believe that the story is going to have a dark and despairing ending. I loved the build-up, and couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Then the story just ends. I would love to see an alternative ending to this story inserted right after the pied-piper line.(I loved this line) All in all it was a good read. Thanks.

Great work on this. You need to write more and definitely more on this family. The wife's perspective wold be great but I want a sequel! This is also very cinematic. It would make a great opening sequence to a film.

I really liked the slightly panicked conversational tone of this piece. It made it easy to get into and made the reader feel some serious tension at times. Great job Dan. I must admit a bit of disappointment that no one important died. But I'll get over that.
