Hey Uncle Aber, nice story dude, I really like Skiff, he’s a effing beast. You have to tell me though, in the story this has been driving me crazy! What does it mean when Violet gives Skiff four squezzes instead of three. What does it mean!!!

Adam, not a bad read. I can see some sick twist doing something like this. I live only a few miles from you, down near Princeton. Seems like there’s a lot of us Midwesterners on this site. Interesting. Anyway, good story. The logic held together well. It flowed well from point to point. Some on this site don’t do that well, or at all for that matter. One thing though in your writing, when you have dialog, don’t be afraid to have people use contraction. Listen to how people talk. Two or three folks having a conversation will speak differantly. You job as a writer is to make us hear those differances. Just listen to someone from downstate vs a born and raised Chicagoan. ‘Specially when dey talk ’bout dem Bears anna Bulls. ha!

As far as I know, they do still do that, but there haven’t been zombies spotted in downer’s grove since 1977. I guess the gang bangers took ‘em out. The zombies have migrated to Hinsdale where they feed on maids and pool boys, who won’t be missed because of their alien status. They’re getting smarter and the rest of us had better watch out, they could be in your town next and you’d never know. They have a knack for blending in; they hold up Homeless Veteran signs at expressway ramps at 2:00 am and pull the innocent from their cars if they’re silly enough to hold out a dollar. I’m not sure who gets the cars…

Adam & Maddog: how about the Zombies who hang out to catch the teenagers parking to watch the Submarine Races at the Lakefront in the Chicago suburb of Downer’s Grove?

At least, the Zombies used to hang out there in the ’60’s do teens still do that? When I lived in Wheaton, I had a boyfriend snatched out of his car by a Zombie. So I didn’t get to watch the Submarine Race that particular night– no big loss as the dude was a jerk, & I drove home and kept his car, ‘cuz it was cool, silently thanking that particular Zombie for a fine new set of wheels!
