I like the idea of “Bitten = Zombie”, maybe if you have a few seconds you could cut off your arm and stop the spread, but no more than this.

Mr Chavez, the tracking up the veins is medically sound by the way. Infection tracks up the veins and is red in colour, I’ve seen it before. The black was however, a befitting touch.
