COMPULSIVE RELOADING by Megan Kennedy
March 27, 2011 Poetry
Surrounded by the limping hosts of doom,
With defeat closing in on our smiles,
We pray to the gods of thunder
For just five more seconds.
Don’t let us fall with
The empty sound
Of our gun
Going
click.
Nice!

I like the diminishing flow. It added a sense of falling, and added to the anxiety of the context. This would translate nicely into graphic novel text.

Short sharp shock, very cool.

Well done. 🙂

I thought this was very good. Very simple, yet engagingly dramatic. I also agree with Randy B, that this would be a very cool spot in a graphic novel.

I loved the form! Really made me feel like I was running out of ammo.

“We pray to the gods of thunder for just five more seconds” Made me feel like im slowly being surrounded by the undead with no chance of escape.

I am not being the guy who kills himself when he gets surrounded, I will be the guy who shoots a zombie with his last round and then hikes his butt up a telephone pole, the either makes a jump to a building or splats on the road
