  3. I liked both of these stories a lot, and both are heads (decapitated zombie heads of course) above the rest. For me though Patrick Tracy’s “Those Who Fall In Silence” was the better of the two. Tracy’s character and world felt real, and showed not only the downward spiral of the “modern” world but also of one man’s slow collapse inward. The desperate need for human contact that lead to a fatal mistake struck a cord that seems to be a reflection of the world we live in now. The internet, delivery services for everything, and on-demand movies deprive us of what it is to be human. I guess that’s why this story was (or is) so scary to me, and what makes zombies so scary in general: Complete lack of human contact. Although, one story could have followed the other, because the man from “Islands” could have become the man from “Those Who Fall In Silence”. This is only my opinion so please take it for what it is; a fan letter of both author’s work. Thank you. I’ll keep reading.
