and have some breathing room, I would like to take a moment and let you all know that I am the new Editor for Tales of World War Z. I have been given access to all the wonderful stories that have been submitted and I am working my way through them. So please be patience a little longer. As I work my way through all of the stories that we currently have, I will contact you and let you know that (with a link) your story has been published.

Also, please keep the stories coming. Having been a fan of this site for years because of all the great writers I have seen here, I hope with your help, to continue the great work that has always made this site wonderful.

So we’re aware that the site has lain fallow for quite some time. Neither Ryan nor Pete have the time available to edit and review submissions. That being said, we’d like to put out the call to interested parties who might want to assume the mantle.

We can’t really pay anything (our ad revenue doesn’t even cover the cost of hosting the site), but you’d have the eternal gratitude of our readership.

Hey zombie fans,

First, sincere apologies for the radio silence on the part of your editor. It’s been an insane 2014 for numerous personal reasons, including the death of a parent. Given the multitude of things happening in and around my life I need to face facts and step down as the editor of this fine publication. 7 years feels like a good run.

That being said, I’d like to open things up to a new editor: you(?). Given the number of outstanding authors and contributors we have on the site, I’m sure one or more of you would be a great, likely better editor than yours truly.

If you’re interested, email the story submission address on the site and Pete and/or I will get back to you.

I will continue to pay for hosting the site and will continue to keep the technical side of things up and running. I just don’t have the time to dedicate to working with the submissions we receive.

It is with a deep sadness, and a heavy heart, I would like to announce that Cindy DeRego, wife of longstanding TOWWZ contributor Jeffrey DeRego, lost her long battle with Leukemia and died on the 8th October. (more…)

Its always nice when one of our contributors releases a book, especially when that contributor is three time TOWWZ contest winner Jeffrey DeRego. His book ‘Escape Clause’ is currently available through ENC Press, and is based in Jeff’s superb Superhero universe  of  ‘Union Dues’, where having a super power is not dream, but a nightmare of bureaucracy and control. I have followed Jeffs ‘Union Dues’ stories for a number of years now, and can’t recommend this enough. (more…)

Awarded on May 30th, 2012. Congratulations to authors Mike Buckendorf and WPM on winning the tenth Tales of the Zombie War contest with their stories Fear and Loathing in the DMZ and Of Mice and Rabbits. Their stories will be featured on our home page, and will gain the coveted Contest Winner tag.
